A Grade
North Albury 40 def Roos 38
The A Grade team was pushed hard on the weekend by North Albury. Sitting one game on top of the ladder, a win would have placed the Roos comfortably on top of the ladder heading into finals.
Leading by a couple of goals over the first two quarters the game was goal for goal.
It was a battle between both teams. Lou Madden shooting at 84% was put under pressure by Hopper Grace Hay.
The ball was hard to get into the ring. Coach Sally Hunter was a driving force in GA, and the Hoppers had to try to slow her down, putting Emily Browne in to GD.
It was a tightly contested A Grade match all day which saw the lead continually change and strong contest for the ball including this between Roos Sophie Hanrahan and Hoppers Madi Lieschke.
The defensive duo of Emily and Sophie was impressive. Coming off her VNL Grand final win, Soph was in full force with Emily Laracy keeping A grade hot shots leader Lily Kelly to her lowest tally for the season, however Sophie Kohlhagen barely missed.
Unfortunately the last half saw the Hoppers make the most of some unforced errors for the Roos and were able to capitalise on them.
Hoppers came away with a two-goal victory. A grade is sitting equal first on ladder but third with percentage.
Sally Hunter looks to clear the ball from four-time Toni Wilson medalist and Hoppers coach Emily Browne.
Awards: Soph Hanrahan (Club 1), Em Laracy (Thrive Wellness & MVP) and Leah Keating (Ladies Committee).
B Grade

Courtney Haigh sticks to the Hoppers shooter in the B Grade.
B Grade also had a hard-fought game with third placed North Albury. Winning the first half the girls lost momentum in the second and were not able to regain the lead.
Lisa was kept limited in the ring by the opposition defence although she continued to work for the ball.
Courtney continued to show her ability to turn the ball over with rebounds and deflections.
B Grade’s Audrey Hogan and Courtney Haigh defended closely.
Tori brought lots of drive in the midcourt. Unfortunately the girls went down by nine.
Still sitting in the top five they will be hoping for a win next week to boost their finals confidence.
Awards: Courtney Haigh (Club 1), Tori Sampson (Health Hub), Lisa French (Ladies Committee) and Kiara Corkett (MVP).

C grade’s Sophie Kennedy shooting.
Fantastic team game from C Grade this week.
Winning every quarter the girls came out strongly and never took their foot off.
Great attacking and shooting from Sophie and Chloe in the ring, Chloe showing her ability to leap and pull in passes, both girls rebounding well.
Chelsea was strong and decisive in WA, leading well and passing to the shooters.
Ava was back to form after being overseas, balancing the court and feeding well in centre.
Nellie continues to improve her game with more confidence. Issy worked well in WD never giving up and putting lots of pressure on the WA.
C Grade’s Charlotte Bott flies for this intercept.
A defenders game with Niamh and Charlotte turning over numerous rebounds and deflections.
It’s great to see the team work so well together.
Awards: Chloe Gilchrist (Club 1), Niamh Lavis (Essential Beauty), Charlotte Bott (Ladies Committee) and Sophie Kennedy (MVP).

The 17s had their second win for the season, which is fantastic. Trailing by one goal in the first quarter, the Roos girls stepped up the defensive pressure and capitalised on every opportunity to take the lead for the remainder of the game and secure a 16 point win – well done girls.
Awards: Sommers Hogan (Origin Clothing), Alex Gniel (Chocolate Factory & MVP) and Rahni Dickins (Ladies Committee).
