Tallygaroopna ended the Merrigum fairytale in C-reserve, in what was a comfortable KDL grand final win.

The Bulldogs made an unlikely run from sixth position to make it to the final, but couldn’t slay the final giant as the Redlegs rolled to a 57-29 result.

Trailing 30-12 at the halftime break, Merrigum looked like it may find its way back into the game, starting the half on a three goal run and making the Redlegs work hard in the midcourt to create attacking opportunities.
But that was where the good times ended for the Bulldogs and Tally regained control, taking advantage of missed Merrigum shots or closing down Dogs’ attacks in the middle third.
The scoreline continued to balloon in the fourth and there was little doubt who deserved the title at the final siren.
Goal shooter Rachel “Connie” Blekic was laser focused around the goal, earning best on court honours.
