However, it was second quarter where Strathmerton started to push forward decisively, taking a 58-point lead.
Third quarter saw Strathmerton end with 93 points to Berrigan’s 32.
At this point, it would have taken a miracle for Berrigan to catch up to Strathmerton's score, but miracles seemed scarce.
The final score saw Strathmerton finish 145 points to Berrigan’s 32 points.
Strathmerton's Timothy Looby continued his winning streak, scoring seven goals and becoming the game's top scorer, with teammate Adrian Crestani close behind with six goals.

After their decisive win over Yarroweyah in round five, Picola United players likely felt confident facing Katamatite.
However, confidence can be misplaced as Picola United fell to Katamatite 68 to 32 in a match which, however, saw the former lead the latter following the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter was where Katamatite took a 15-point lead, a lead which continued for the rest of the game.
By the end of the third quarter Katamatite stood at 54 points while Picola had 32.
Katamatite’s Mitchell Coleman kicked three goals, making him the game’s best goal scorer.
Katamatite currently sits third on the ladder.
Despite its best efforts and strong fan support, Yarroweyah couldn't gain ground, losing to Mathoura 213-21.
Mathoura headed onto the pitch with confidence, finishing the first quarter 55 points ahead of Yarroweyah.
The Murray Valley Hwy team put in a strong effort but ultimately lost by 192 points.
Yarroweyah’s Zac Clarke, Corey Reardon and Mitch Dickason each scored a goal for their side.
The game’s top goal scorer was Mathoura’s Aron Burns with an impressive 15 goals kicked.
