The Hoppers, who have only lost twice this season, put on a classy performance to get across the line, doing enough to hold on for the win.
Scores were level at the end of the first term, before the home side edged in front before half-time.
A strong third quarter to the Hoppers ultimately proved the difference and, despite a late Demons fightback, the home team picked up the win.
Rennie coach Paula Mifka said she knew it was going to be a tough, physical game against a strong Jerilderie team.
“Jerilderie beat Katamatite by eight goals and Katamatite beat us by 20, so I was expecting to come up against a very solid side,” she said.
“Because we’ve got such a young side, we’ve been building a little bit of momentum.
“When we played Katandra we had a good win but then we had two games off with Berrigan and Yarroweyah, so we’re sort of back to trying to build momentum.”
Mifka said the young girls were really stepping up for the Hoppers, with four 16-year-olds, two 18-year-olds and one 19-year-old in the side alongside her.
“The young girls are stepping up,” Mifka said.
“We’re doing all right, they’re learning each week.
“I think the next thing for us is we haven’t been able to break away when we really should be to have a solid win.”
Rennie once again struggled to close out the game at the weekend, surrendering an impressive lead in the final term.
Hannah Shoppee and Brooke Knight both combined well in defence on the day, while Sophia Shaw performed well in the centre, with the youngster playing in the middle for the whole game.
“With junior players, it’s a lot about confidence,” Mifka said.
“In the last quarter, Jerilderie put a huge amount of pressure on us and we probably lulled a little bit and that was a pretty key learning for us.”
The win moves Rennie to fourth place, just four points behind league-leader Waaia on the table.
In other round nine games, Tungamah picked up a handy 19-goal win over Tocumwal, while Strathmerton downed Picola United.
Katandra produced a convincing win over Blighty, as did Katunga against Mathoura.
Waaia continued its strong season, defeating Katamatite at home, while the Deni Rovers had a week off.
