Fun and festivity was the theme of the night at Deniliquin Boat Club Friday last week, when Ski School held its annual Christmas party.
The river bank was lit up with a dazzling display of twinkling fairy lights and Christmas banners, setting the scene for an evening of laughter and cheer.
Shane and Ellie Music also got into the festive spirit, singing a range of Christmas songs which could clearly be heard by those waiting for a ski at the water’s edge.
Volunteers Aileen Hayes and Marg Tait dressed to impress in their Christmas outfits, whilst ensuring Ski School ran smoothly.
The kids waited in anticipation for Santa to arrive, with many eager faces looking up to the skies.
However, Santa is a man of many talents and surprised onlookers when he and his four elves put on a spectacular performance as they skied along the Edward River.
Santa landed gracefully into the water and was greeted by many excited kids looking to say ‘hello’.
Organisers thanked boat drivers Leigh Holmberg and David Connolly and observers were Chloe MacKnight, Ethan and Elka Connolly.
The club also welcomed new families on the night, and there was special mention for Annabelle Hanns who has never skied before but successfully got up behind the boat on two skis – impressive!
The last Ski School of the year is on tonight, and will then return from Friday, January 5.
