Mr. Jasper advised the Board of his decision at the recently scheduled meeting in January.
He has shown himself to be a popular figure amongst O&M circles, becoming a mainstay at Board level for just over eleven years. In acknowledgement of his longstanding contribution to the league, Mr. Jasper was recently awarded Life Membership at last September’s Morris and Wilson Medal Presentation evening.
“I have closely followed the league over the years as a sponsor of both Wangaratta O&M clubs, and through family members who participate in the competition,” Mr Anderson said.
“I am eager to see what I can contribute to the league’s legacy through leadership and community-building skills I have gained from previous business and volunteer work.”
Mr Anderson comes to the role well-known to the region, having been a business owner in the Wangaratta community for over a decade.
He is also a Life Member at the Doutta Stars in the Essendon and District Football League, having served in both Junior and Senior President roles over a ten-year period.
“The OMFNL Board would like to extend its sincere thanks to Ken for his dedication to the League that has spanned more than a decade,” SS&A OMFNL Chairman David Sinclair said.
“His energy and experience, particularly in situations that required the League to liaise with local council and government, will be sorely missed.
“At the same time, we are excited by Brett’s appointment, and look forward to him applying his impressive business and community sports background at League level as the season progresses.”
