Mt Pleasant has punched its ticket to the Heathcote District Football League grand final while Colbinabbin has set up a blockbuster preliminary final clash against North Bendigo this Saturday.

The Mounts have emerged as the team to beat for the 2025 flag after pulling off a heist against league leaders North Bendigo in the second qualifying final.
In a game that swung like a pendulum, Mt Pleasant made the best of it in the first quarter.

Despite inaccuracy, the Mounts managed to kick three goals while holding the Bulldogs to one major to take a 13-point first turn advantage.
Kicking into the wind, Mt Pleasant stumbled in the second period as North Bendigo found its way into the contest with three goals, with the Mounts’ lead reduced to two points at half time.
William Wallace was one of Mt Pleasant’s best players.

Mt Pleasant found its first-quarter form once more, drilling three goals in the third term to hold a 14-point lead with a quarter to play.
While the Bulldogs (3.1) threatened to steal the game at the death, the Mounts (1.5) kept themselves afloat to sail away with a 8.15 (63) to 8.9 (57) triumph.

The win has given the Mounts the first berth at the big dance, with the other grand finalist being decided on Saturday at Elmore Recreation Reserve.
Colbinabbin v Huntly
The Grasshoppers will get a shot at battling rivals Mt Pleasant in the grand final after taking down Huntly in a thriller at Lockington Recreation Reserve.

Both teams started strongly, but it was the Grasshoppers (3.4) who created seven-points of breathing room by quarter time.
Colbinabbin was nearly brought undone by a consistent Hawks (2.2) unit in the contest after being reduced to one behind in the second period.

Huntly led by a goal at half time, but neither team could affect the margin one way or the other in the third period, with both kicking 3.3.
However, a five-goal barrage sealed the deal for Colbo in the final frame as the Hawks couldn’t quite match it with two goals of their own.

The final score was 11.12 (78) to 9.10 (64).
The Grasshoppers will have one more hurdle to jump over if they’re to appear in the grand final, taking on North Bendigo in the preliminary final.
