After a round one loss to start the season the Magpies have bounced back and claimed five wins in-a-row to shoot up the standings, with the Hawks their latest victim.
Not only did Moama dominate inside forward 50, it prevented Barooga from scoring for the entire first half.
The Magpies bagged 8.3 in the first half to kick off their day and ran it back with a three-goal effort in the second period to lead 69-0 at the major break.
Liam Barrett had four goals to his name before half-time with Ky Stovell, Mitchell Lake and Kaydn Mislicki nabbing a pair each.
The Hawks drew first blood in the second half with a behind and jagged one late to get the ball rolling, but it wasn’t close to being enough to catch Moama which continued its tyranny despite wayward kicking with 4.10.
The Magpies ended their highly successful day with a tidy 5.5 down the stretch with Barooga only able to muster one more behind to end its match without hitting double digits.
The final score was Moama 20.18 (138) to Barooga 1.2 (8).
The 130-point flogging was Moama’s biggest scalp of the season as it continues marching up the standings and back towards finals.
Stovell and Barrett had a day in front of goals and led the way for Moama, kicking six and five majors, respectively.
Barrett, Rhys Drennan, Jake Cardilini, Darchi Clarke, Stovell and Lachlan Carmody were honoured for their efforts in round six on the best on list.
Moama will be back on the road in round seven following a week of rest for the second half of the split round six, travelling to Numurkah Recreation Reserve to take on the struggling Blues.
