Barooga’s youth women made the most out of what was always going to be an uphill battle when they hosted Moama in round 11 of the Northern Country Womens League.

With some displays of clean football and pressure around the ball, Barooga managed to restrain the Magpies to a 14.10 (94) margin without kicking a goal.

The senior women Hawks struggled to convert chances in front of goal in their clash with Mansfield later that day, falling by 25 points on Barooga 2.3 (15) to Mansfield 6.4 (40).

Next week, both the youth and senior women face Shepparton United at home as finals hover on the horizon.
