A fantastic start to the season. Impressed with all the girls and the versatility the side offers. At 14 years of age Maisee Pell made her A Grade debut with a stunning display of netball – she held her own all day.
In very hot conditions the implementation of rolling subs was very welcome and the girls adapted so well. Lots of positives to take out of today and a win on the board to start the season gives us a real boost.
B Grade
Mulwala 53 defeated Congupna 31
So pleased with the girls – with a new look team taking the court in very warm conditions, they threw everything at it and came home with a fairly convincing first round win. Their pressure was relentless and provided many options down court to convert. Jess Linehan made her senior netball debut and was solid through the mid-court all day. Teagan Larkin was a welcome back to the club after having her family and Nat Ferg provided consistency through the mid-court. So many positive takeaways and an exciting season ahead of us.

Good opening game for the season from the girls even though we didn't get the win – they played great together as a team on such a hot day. Great game played by Eliza Robilliard from start to finish as well as Mel McVicar and Catherine Shaw. Looking forward to next week!
C Reserve
Mulwala 36 defeated Congupna 35
C Res took on a competitive Congupna with it coming down to the final minutes. Everyone played incredibly well for a new team, and it was great to come away with the win.
Kat used her height well holding and moving in the ring, finishing off each play with her accurate shooting.
With a young team taking the court, the leadership of Beth Robinson didn’t go unnoticed. A positive start to the year, with lots to work on and a great outlook for the team of 2024. Nat Wood made an impact with her versatility both ends of the court, working hard all game. A fantastic first game for the Lions with an exciting season ahead.
Under 17s
Mulwala 16 were defeated by Congupna 30
It was a hot day for our first game but the whole team worked hard and never gave up. The girls put everything they have been practising into play, with the score not reflecting the effort the girls put in.
Ruby and Indi were strong in defence, making Congupna work hard for each goal and getting many intercepts.
Jemma was strong through the mid-court making great leads and moving the ball down the court. A great way to start the season with lots of positives and things to work on at training.
Under 15s
Mulwala 28 defeated Congupna 5
Despite the nerves the girl got off to a good start, the hands over pressure was applied over the whole court which reflected on the scoreboard. Everyone played their role and the girls were able to secure their first win of the season.
Under 13s

It was a warm start to the season against Congupna with our girls combining well together and showing great promise for the season ahead. Ruby, Phoenix and Nancy played well in defence with many strong intercepts. Layla showed great skills moving through the court with finesse and Rianna‘s hard work at training has paid off with a great shooting performance.Great job girls.
Under 11s
What a first game for our Under 11 girls, so much determination by every single player and the cheering and support on the court among the girls was fantastic – you would never have thought that was their first game as a team. Congrats to first time MFNC players Maddie Witton and Ruthie Purtle on their awards and to Addison and Poppy Kirchen on their award for their leadership and encouragement to all the girls whilst playing. Well done girls.
