The star ruckman underwent surgery last Friday on the shoulder and could be back playing before the end of the season.
The surgery, carried out at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, involved a re-alignment of the shoulder re-injured in a fall in a Gold Coast Shopping Centre last month.
Norris injured the shoulder seriously in last year’s Goulburn Valley League grand final, which necessitated surgery, although he had been experiencing difficulties with the shoulder before that.
A member of Kyabram’s 2019 premiership side and GVL interleague representative, Norris was recently appointed to captain the Bombers for the first time.
He said the timeline given by specialists for his recovery was four to six months.
‘‘Everything going well and I could be back playing late July,’’ Norris said.
The Bombers acted swiftly when Norris’ immediate future was clouded by his fall and lured skyscraper Mt Gravatt ruckman Marcus Khoo as a replacement.
Khoo is a 200cm plus athletic ruckman who is expected to make his debut with the club in a practice game against Bendigo League side South Bendigo at Lancaster this Saturday.
