Revenge was on the cards for Scott Rowan’s men, who showed no fear in the face of a daunting round nine trip to Mansfield Recreation Reserve, a ground the Eagles had not tasted defeat on previously this season.
The Magpies delivered the first of several knockout blows early, kicking four unanswered goals in the first term.
Mansfield’s back six, without the services of defensive stalwarts Will Chiller and Tas Clingan, could not find the answer to a devastating Magpies forward line.
The host fought back in the second, kicking its first and keeping the visiting side to two scoring shots.
But with the round one boil-over perhaps still lingering on the mind, Euroa was merciless after the main break, booting six unanswered third-quarter goals to put the nail firmly in Mansfield’s coffin.
Ben Giobbi spearheaded Euroa’s scoring with five majors to earn best-on, with brother Adam instrumental at the other end of the ground across half-back.
Jack McKernan kept the scoreboard ticking over for the visitors with three goals to his name.
Magpies ruck Andrew Smith made his presence felt against his opposing number in Eagles big man Tom McDonagh, with Smith gifting his midfielders first use at most contests all game.
Midfield maestro Jayden Gleeson and wingman Nathan Stewart also got themselves among Euroa’s best, keeping the Magpies’ midfield on top around the contest.
The win puts Euroa level on points with Mansfield and Kyabram at 7-2, with all three clubs looking to consolidate a spot within the top four as they move into the back half of the season.
