In what was expected to be a close contest, the Grand Central Cobram turned the tables on its underdog status, coming away with a stunning 5-2 routing of Yarrawonga’s Termo Black in the grand final of the Yarrawonga Mulwala 8-Ball Competition.
The clash, held at the Boosey Creek Tavern in Katamatite on Wednesday, August 13, yielded no celebrations for Yarrawonga, with Federal Hotel Berrigan dismantling Yarra Blue 5-1 in the B-grade finale.
The win for Grand Central Cobram tops off a breathtaking year for the side, which has risen meteorically since first entering the A-grade this season.
