State Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy is encouraging district cricket clubs to throw their hat in the ring for a share of the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund.
Mr McCurdy highlighted that the program, jointly funded by Cricket Victoria, Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers Association, is open to all cricket clubs, cricket associations, schools, local government and cricket facility managers.
The minor category funds projects up to $15,000, while the major category funds projects up to $40,000.
Mr McCurdy said the funds were an excellent opportunity to improve cricketing facilities in the area.
“This fund provides grant opportunities across several project areas from minor expenditures to major upgrades,” he said.
“We have a strong cricketing competition across the Ovens Valley with the W&DCA and a great pipeline of young talent getting involved with the game ... and I strongly encourage our local clubs who are looking for ways to fund their ideal projects to get their applications in and take advantage of Cricket Australia’s current funding round.”
Letters of support from Mr McCurdy may be provided to suitable applicants.
Applications are open now and close Sunday, March 24 2024.
