There are 27 different members who race, from the Finley, Shepparton, Wangarrata and Benalla regions.
Pigeon racing has been described as the “sport that has a single start gate and a thousand finish lines”.
Competing birds are taken from their lofts and must race home.
Luke won the five bird race with a Blue Chequer, the Federation race with a Blue Chequer, and the Pool Pigeon race with a Blue Chequer Pied.
Each week clubs take it in turns to transport the pigeons to their competition destinations ready to race.
“I would like to thank the people who took the pigeons to the race and looked after them,” Sibraa said.
While still on a high from the success, Sibraa is now focused on the next competition.
Later this month, his will be among the pigeons crossing the Bass Straight from Tasmania in a 650km race.
Also on the racing calendar is a Goondawindi destination, where some entrants will cover more than 1000km to home.
Another local competitor is Michael Hawkins from Berrigan, who had some success earlier in the season in the West Wyalong race.
