Like many other community clubs, both in the GDCA and right across the country, the club has purchased a ‘FrogBox’ kit in partnership with Janelle Puppa Real Estate, which will facilitate the streaming of home games.
The FrogBox will be set up at each home game at Kings Park, meaning supporters who can't make it to the ground can live stream games or watch them back later, never missing a ball.
The investment in this new technology will further modernise and professionalise the club, taking it to the next level in terms of what it can offer local cricketers and the community.
Not only will the FrogBox provide incredible coverage of local cricket, it will also provide new opportunities for players to review footage and improve their game.
EHCC captain Seamus Feery said he was thrilled to hear that the club could purchase the new technology, which was made possible by Janelle Puppa Real Estate.
“We couldn't have delivered this new technology without the financial support from Janelle,” Feery said.
“Janelle supports a lot of organisations in the community and we're really grateful to have her onboard as our FrogBox sponsor.
“Most clubs in the GDCA have a FrogBox and it's great to be able to join them in live streaming matches.
“The players are excited about having the ability to review and learn from the footage. We hope that family, friends, supporters and sponsors will enjoy checking in on the cricket too. We're a community club and we want everyone to be able to enjoy it.”
The Gisborne and District Cricket Association season is set to begin on Saturday, October 4, with the first home game for EHCC expected to be the week after due to the Seymour Show.
Eastern Hill enters the new season off the back of a successful 2024/2025 campaign, its first in the GDCA after crossing from the Seymour and District Cricket Association, finishing as runners up in the Johnstone Shield Firsts competition.
