The club runs a number of events, including one of the biggest tournaments in the country, the Easter Tournament. Daryl also outlined the investment the club continues to make to ensure the playing surface remains at such a high standard.
After being re-elected for a fifth term, Daryl was pleased to welcome three new committee members, including new club Secretary Pat Mansfield.
Mick Ibbot and Peter Moore also joined the strong existing committee and will bring fresh ideas into the club.
Outgoing Secretary Christine Carr was thanked for her work and will be missed by all Committee members, especially at the Christmas break up for her platter of dip and biscuits.
The upcoming tennis season will see world-class senior players descend on the courts in November for the 2022 Victorian Seniors Grasscourt Championships.
Some of the top-ranked players for their age in the country will be coming to Yarrawonga to compete in this International Tennis Federation event.
Yarrawonga will also host the Inter-Regional Championships in January 2023 where teams of all ages from the 11 tennis regions across the state will compete for the honour of being the strongest region in Victoria.
However it's not all about bringing players to Yarrawonga, as Daryl also made a point that the committee needs to focus on maintaining value for local members.
Continuing to provide events for junior and adult players is an area that the club will always focus on.
Without members, there is no club so continuing to provide opportunities for playing tennis is essential.
The successful night competitions will again run in 2022/23, as will the social Fast 4 competition that filled the courts in November last year.
The junior sub-committee have already begun planning the Saturday morning Junior Competition in conjunction with club coach Greg Duns.
This requires a lot of work to ensure the 150 juniors enjoy their coaching or matches each Saturday over summer.
