Geelong prevailed by 66 runs over Kingston-Hawthorn on December 18 in round six action.
The win moved Geelong up into 10th on the ladder — two spots outside of finals contention.
Karramomus’ Josh McDonald and former Central Park-St Brendan’s gun Josh Larkin both missed out with the bat in the victory. However, Larkin held on to a vital catch.
Michael Archer and his Greenvale Kangaroos teammates pulled off a shock upset win over Carlton.
The former Tatura captain played a hand in Greenvale’s 26-run triumph over the previously undefeated Blues.
Despite the win, Greenvale is anchored to the bottom of the table.
Katandra’s Daniel Sartori also failed to fire at the top of the order for Footscray in its win over Frankston.
Footscray — chasing 112 for victory — chased down the target inside 30 overs and with four wickets up its sleeve.
Former Old Students and Karramomus talent James Billington was unable to lift Prahran over the line against Ringwood.
Billington crafted 31 runs in the 40-run defeat.
In women’s premier firsts action, Seymour’s Madison Albers and Echuca’s Grace Moyle helped Carlton climb up the ladder before the break.
Albers, an opening quick, claimed impressive figures of 3-28 from nine overs, while Moyle chipped in with a catch.
Carlton was able to restrict Plenty Valley to 9-126 in reply to the Blues’ mammoth score of 3-251.
Meanwhile, Euroa’s Georgia Gall was one of the top performers for Essendon-Maribyrnong Park in its loss to Melbourne.
The left-arm quick collected 2-49 and notched 15 runs in the 85-run defeat.
Echuca’s Grace Moyle and Gemma Boyd from Central Park-St Brendan’s led Carlton to victory over Essendon-Maribyrnong Park in women’s seconds action.
Moyle whacked 41 runs, while Boyd chipped in with 19 and a run out.
In men’s premier seconds, a former Karramomus talent led Carlton to victory over Greenvale.
Andrew Poppa made a classy 72-run knock to lift Carlton over the line by 75 runs.
Poppa now has 218 runs from five innings this campaign at an average of 43.6.
