The cross-border battle between Cobram 1 and Barooga Sports, who finished first and second on the ladder, respectively, was an arm wrestle; however, it was Barooga Sports that triumphed 64 shots to 54, winning all three rinks en route to the premiership.
It was a marked turnaround for Barooga against Cobram in the finals, with Cobram having won the final meeting of the home-and-away season over Barooga by a mammoth 47 shots. Barooga triumphed in the semi-final by 23 shots and then the decider by 10 to take out the coveted premiership.

The difference in the end was the rink skipped by Brenda Smethurst, who along with Dean Rowland and Sue Carter, managed to draw level at 20-20 in the 19th end after claiming three shots, before pulling ahead with another three in the 20th and a single in the 21st to win 24-20, the four shots being the eventual overall margin of victory too.
