The Cobram Roar under-12 Yellow Boys delivered another impressive performance on Sunday, defeating Albury Hotspurs in a dominant display of teamwork and attacking football.
Leading the side as captain, Chanel Finai set the tone early, opening the scoring with a well-taken goal. Cobram continued to apply pressure throughout the first half, with Nathanael Sutton adding a second goal to give the Roar a deserved 2-0 lead at the break.
Albury Hotspurs proved to be a much tougher opponent than when the two sides last met, showing great determination and strength in defence. Despite their efforts, the visitors struggled to create attacking opportunities as Cobram controlled possession and limited any chances on goal.
The Roar elevated their game even further in the second half, producing accurate passing combinations and creating numerous scoring opportunities. Their persistence paid off with goals to Frankie Lean, Nate Hemingway and Jackson Hall, extending the lead and sealing an emphatic 5-0 victory.
Defensively, Cobram were outstanding. Bede Schwarz anchored the back line superbly alongside Kai Ramsdale and Amir Mohamed, ensuring Hotspurs were unable to find a way onto the scoreboard and preserving another clean sheet for the Roar.
Best-on-ground honours went to Nathanael Sutton, whose work rate, skill and influence across the field played a major role in the team’s success.
The victory continues an excellent season for the Cobram Roar under-12 Yellow Boys, who now head into a well-earned two-week break. With confidence high and performances continuing to improve, the team will be eager to return to action and build on another outstanding result.

It was a strong start for Cobram - scoring early, then the opportunity came for a goal from Hotspurs’ top side.
The pressure was maintained but unfortunately another goal came soon after for the Hotspurs.
Cobram maintained very good pressure in defence with our goal keeper keeping the team in the game with a string of excellent saves.
Hotspurs were just a little bit better than Cobram today in their application all over the pitch, but Cobram should hold their heads high. Overall, there was strong play from Cobram throughout the game, as we remembered and honoured one of our Roar family members.

The Cobram Roar under-13 Boys delivered a sensational team performance on the weekend, securing a commanding 14-0 victory in one of their most complete displays of the season.
From the opening whistle, Roar controlled possession, moved the ball with confidence, and worked tirelessly for one another. The boys showcased excellent teamwork throughout the match, consistently sharing the ball and creating opportunities for teammates.
Goals came from across the team as Cobram Roar’s attacking players combined brilliantly, while the midfield worked hard to link defence and attack.
What stood out most was the team’s unselfish approach, with players looking to set up teammates and celebrate each other’s success. Their communication, passing, and movement off the ball were outstanding and reflected the hard work being put in at training.
The Cobram Roar boys can take great confidence from the victory as they continue to build momentum throughout the season.

The Cobram Roar under-14 Girls showed great determination and resilience in their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Albury Hotspurs this weekend.
Hotspurs came out strong and found the back of the net early, putting Cobram on the back foot. The Roar girls struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, but continued to work hard and stay in the contest.
After the half time break, Cobram returned to the field with renewed energy and purpose. Their persistence paid off when Indi Hemingway scored a fantastic goal to level the scores and spark the team into action.
With momentum now firmly on their side, Cobram continued to press forward and were rewarded when Evie Hemingway scored the go-ahead goal, giving the Roar a well-deserved lead.
The final minutes saw a strong defensive effort from the entire team, with the girls holding their shape and working together to keep Hotspurs at bay. Their determination and teamwork ensured they held on for an impressive 2-1 victory.
A fantastic team performance from all the girls, showing great character to come from behind and secure the win.

The Cobram Roar under-14 Boys delivered an impressive team performance on home turf, defeating Albury Hotspurs 4-2 in an entertaining and competitive contest.
The Roar started brightly and took control of the contest with energetic attacking football and strong teamwork. Their early pressure paid off when they found the back of the net to take the lead, setting the tone for an entertaining afternoon.
Albury Hotspurs responded well and showed plenty of determination throughout the match, creating several chances and keeping the contest competitive. However, Cobram's attacking unit continued to threaten and added further goals through quick passing movements and clinical finishing.
The visitors refused to give up and managed to score twice, ensuring the game remained alive until the final whistle. Despite the Hotspurs' resilience, the Roar maintained their composure and sealed the victory with a fourth goal to secure a deserved 4-2 win.

Cobram Roar Division 2 Women showed tremendous determination and resilience on Sunday - fighting to the very end to secure a hard-earned 3-2 victory over Albury Hotspurs.
The Roar kept the pressure on throughout the contest in an entertaining and closely fought match. First-half goals from Laura Moras and Holli Cameron helped Cobram stay in the contest, with the teams locked at 2-2 at halftime.
After the break, Cobram continued to push forward and were rewarded when Casey Chandler found the back of the net, scoring what proved to be the match-winning goal.
The Roar's persistence and commitment across the park ensured they held their advantage until the final whistle, sealing an impressive 3-2 win against a determined Albury Hotspurs side.

Cobram Roar FC Division 3 Men 2-5 Albury Hotspurs SC Men
In what proved to be an interesting and feisty encounter, Cobram ultimately fell to a loss against Albury Hotspurs’ Division 3 side on Sunday.
An early goal from Hotspurs following some flowing attacking play put Cobram on the back foot, with the damage further emphasised by a well-taken penalty in the 34th minute.
Two additional goals for Hotspurs shortly after halftime were responded to with a looping goal from Cobram’s Dante Zito in the 60th minute.
A game littered with some heavy challenges and 50/50 tackles boiled over in the 64th minute, which saw a Hotspurs player run 30 metres to get involved in an altercation and shirtfront a Cobram defender – the result being a red card to the Hotspurs player.
A contentious penalty was awarded shortly afterwards and was converted by Hotspurs to put the scores at 5-1.
A change to the formation for Cobram resulted in attacking pressure on Albury’s defence, with a resulting free kick expertly turned in with a sublime volley from Seb Adnams – captaining the side today with great leadership and a cool head.

Cobram Roar produced a spirited performance at home on Sunday, earning a 3-3 draw in a thrilling contest that wasn't decided until the final moments.
The Roar made the perfect start, taking the lead in the 8th minute through Martin Louchet. The visitors responded shortly after to level the scores, with the sides locked at 1-1 heading into the break.
After a tightly contested opening to the second half, Cobram regained the advantage in the 58th minute when Kieran O'Donnell found the back of the net to make it 2-1.
The visitors then struck twice in quick succession, turning the game on its head with goals in the 73rd and 76th minutes to take a 3-2 lead and leave the Roar chasing the game.
Cobram refused to surrender and continued to press forward in search of an equaliser. Their persistence was rewarded deep into stoppage time when a handball inside the penalty area gave the Roar a chance from the spot. O'Donnell stepped up with confidence and converted the penalty, securing his second goal of the afternoon and rescuing a deserved point for the home side.
The dramatic finish capped off an entertaining contest, with the Roar showing plenty of character to fight back and claim a share of the spoils in front of their home supporters.
