The Murray Football League side did things the hard way on Saturday afternoon, coming from behind to defeat the Deniliquin Rams by 33 points in the final round of regular season action.
A 10.10 (70) to 4.13 (37) result at Scott Oval, the visiting Rams led at every change throughout the contest except the last.
Inaccurate on the day, the Rams led by seven points at quarter time, with a one goal and nine point second term helping build a 12-point lead at the main break.
In the third the visitors did enough to stay a goal ahead, before a 40-point-to-one final quarter handed Cobram first position on the ladder.

The result gives Cobram a weekend off this week, with a semi-final against Mulwala pencilled in for Saturday, September 3 in Finley.

For the region’s other MFL side, Barooga, an away defeat to Echuca United marked the end of an up and down season.
The 16.8 (104) to 9.14 (68) result was a disappointing one for the Hawks who end the season in ninth, with four wins and 14 losses for the year.

A bright start to Echuca had them on the front foot early on the day, with the Eagles holding a 23-point lead at half time.
In the third term Barooga clawed its way back, with the 14-point margin at three quarter time leaving the game in the balance, however a big final quarter to the home side saw them run out victors.
