It was the might of the Harro Cats who took home the chocolates in the top-of-the-table clash in the CDJFL game of the week.
The DJ Bombers went in with plenty of confidence but met a determined Cats outfit that kept defining the challenges thrown at them.
Although key Bomber defender Noah Allen was strong in defence, he and his fellow defenders could not stop the onslaught of the Cats midfield, again well served from Sam Devicentis accompanied by the strong Blake Cameron.
Harro Cats winners by nine points.
Game two matched the Franklin Hawks against the Verner Tigers with the Hawks too strong.
Isabelle Haberfield has shown great improvement in the Tigers side, breaking lines and getting plenty of the ball, as well as teammates Kohen Verner and Charlie Noonan, but it wasn’t enough against the Hawks.
Hawks captain, the ever present Beau Trenerry, paid tribute to the Tigers stating that the Tigers had given his side some trouble, but he, Oliver Ryan, Archie Chellew and the youngest player in the league, Kyle Dunn were on top of their games to get the job done.
It’s great to see the league getting plenty of support, with CDJFL vice-president Duane Kelly paying tribute to the volunteers, supporters and valued players to keeping junior football at the forefront of junior sport.

Auskick
On Friday, under the Scott St oval lights, about 80 boys and girls aged nine and under are learning how to playing AFL.
We are halfway through our Auskick program where we have been learning the basics of football being kicking, handballing, marking and kicking goals.
Auskick co-ordinator Simon Hickey is very proud of the young footballers and is having as much fun as the children are.
Each week our Auskickers of the week show our core values - teamwork, respect and continuing development.
This week our Auskickers of the week were: Jacob Cornish, Seth Cox, Jack Brown, Blake Miller, Robert Fraser and Ashton Stanyer.
