After losing just one game last season, the Blues have followed up with a pristine record in 2025 and are looking to defend the premiership they won in an overtime thriller last year.
“Definitely very happy that we’ve gone that one game further and gone through undefeated,” co-coach Jenn Clark said.
“The team is a little different this year.
“We had a few step up to C-grade and a few step away from the club, so we’ve got a few young girls that have stepped into the team
“It’s been really great to watch their growth and watch them improve over the year.”
Jenn co-coaches with daughter Jazmin Clark and they have plenty of talent at their disposal, including Mikaela Pyke, who was crowned league best-and-fairest at the Murray league presentation night on Sunday.
It’s not just individual talent, though, as Jenn highlighted the chemistry within the team.
“We’re really proud of the way the girls have stepped up as a team once again this year,” she said.
“It’s hard to explain, but their communication together, their commitment level and the way they’ve all come together, it’s really like a second family.
“I think that’s what helps that winning atmosphere on game day.”
The Blues’ grand final day opponents will be Nathalia, after the Purples scored a surprisingly comprehensive 56-34 victory over Rumbalara in the preliminary final.
“We actually have to play a much different game against them,” Jenn said
“We play a very fast-paced, skilled game, and they play a lot slower game, so we’re going to have to change our game plan up a lot for Saturday. But we’ve done it twice during the year, so we can do it again.”
The C-reserve grand final is scheduled for 12.30pm Saturday at Moama Recreation Reserve.
