The event is a four-day camp for 240 under-12 players to be held at Echuca Basketball Stadium from Saturday, September 20 to Tuesday, September 23.
To be selected for the Jamboree, players must have attended the under-12 Country Skills Day and then 120 boys and 120 girls are selected to participate in the jamboree.
Some of the best coaches from across country Victoria will be on hand to teach player and team skills for the players to excel at the under-14 level and beyond.
Echuca Moama Basketball Association president Lisa Baker reflected on the club’s excitement about the Jamboree and the potential for career development for players.
“The juniors come and learn from the best of the coaches in country Victoria and play games and meet new people, which can open the door for further development,” she said.
“Once they get out of under-12s, they then get taken into the future development program which can lead to being selected for Victoria country teams.
“We’ll have kids go to the skills day and then hopefully get a few through to the Jamboree so they can showcase their talent.
“It's four full days of basketball, the town is buzzing, it definitely brings a lot to Echuca-Moama as well as high-quality play on the court.”
