The first term got under way with Numurkah taking an early lead, keeping Barooga scoreless until two majors from Codi Bowden and Jae Bowden in the second term gave the Hawks a glimmer of hope.
But it wasn’t enough to keep the Blues away.
Up to the final siren, Numurkah kept up a dominant run in front of goals, with a little inaccuracy costing them but doing little to put them off the hunt.
Taking the laurels with the scoreline closing on 14.20 (104) to 2.7 (19), Numurkah has consolidated its finals berth, holding on to sixth place in the standings.
In reserves action, Numurkah put the pedal to the metal early on and didn’t let up even as Barooga’s Jake Poole and Noah Trenerry booted a goal apiece, rounding out a Barooga defeat, 17.9 (111) to 2.8 (20).
Looking to the courts, Barooga fell to Numurkah in the A-grade (41-25), with a similar story in the B-grade (61-47).

A margin of just seven goals was the difference in the end for the C-grade (53-46), while Barooga turned the tables in the C-reserve to take home a resounding win, 50-14.
Despite the win, it wasn’t enough to boost their ranking, with only the Hawks’ under-13s outfit sitting in the league’s top six.
