Vin Toohey's funeral was well attended by all and it was great to see all the bowls shirts at the church and graveside. The club farewell's Toohey, who will be missed.
Trade day was held Thursday at Nathalia and the winners were Barooga's Peter Russell, Ed Coulstock and John Sullivan. Runners-up were Willy Nelson, Laurie Vinecombe and Ross Simpson. Best first game went to the Kyabram trio of K Button, J Greco and G Portia. Best second went to Jeff Peacock and team from Finley RSC. Best third went to Trevor Smith and team from Picola. Best fourth game went to Rod Sean and team from Numurkah, which had the chance to win the jackpot, but its number did not come up, so it again jackpots to Barooga this week and is quite a tidy sum.Keith's Friday was postponed due to Toohey's funeral, but will be back this Friday, so get your name down. Although the jackpot is not as large as the trade day one it is still worth winning.Perfect conditions for women's bowls last Monday. Betty Oldham, Helen Quinn and Val Toohey were the winning team after playing 16 ends.A reminder this Monday is the first round of club's women's 21-up championship. Also on Monday, there is a meeting after bowls to discuss matters from the board. Please bring your own lunch.Today's trade day is at Numurkah Golf.
