Rising soccer starlet Gianluca Iannucci is going from strength-to-strength with A-League club Melbourne City.
IIannucci left Cobram as a 14-year-old to pursue his dream of becoming a professional soccer player.
He is now making a name for himself where he is seen as a bright young attacking talent who is capable of playing on either flank or through the middle.
The 18-year-old has half-a-dozen goals to his name this campaign with City’s youth side in the Victorian NPL 2. He scored a match-winning double against Box Hill United in the middle of July before bagging another goal against Goulburn Valley Suns.
During this purple patch of form, Iannucci was selected for a five-day, 30-player Young Socceroos training camp in Canberra. He managed to impress coach Gary van Egmond enough to make the 23-player squad that played in 2019 AFF U-18 Championship campaign in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Beyond this tournament, Iannucci returned to City where he is looking to stake his claims for selection in Erick Mombaerts senior squad for the 2019-20 A-League season.
