More than 50 Year 5 and 6 students were involved in the performance of Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits with comedic musical leaving spectators in raptures.
The bright and colourful show with magnificent costumes and crafty sets was preceded by songs performed by students from Prep through to Year 4.
Ally McKenzie-Cahill was one of the stars of the show. She played Alakazam, the production's narrator, and after the show she explained how she felt before and after the performance.
“I feel really good,” she said.
“I was nervous at the start but I was more excited.
“I had heaps of food so I wouldn't get angry or sad from being hungry.”
Ally said it took hours and hours of practice for her classmates to nail their lines and she believed they all deserved huge credit.
“I think they all did really well and all deserve to be congratulated, I am surprised they all managed to remember so much,” she said.
“We had to do it every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, it took a lot of practice to remember the lines but they all stuck.
“Congratulations to everyone, they all acted amazing and all did fantastically and thanks to everyone who helped out.”
Principal Matthew Knight sported a broad smile at the end of the night, thrilled by the efforts of his students.
“I am so proud, our guys like to push themselves and better themselves and they do it every time,” Mr Knight said.
“I can't imagine what's next because it was a pretty impressive show.
“They are an amazing group of kids and they keep blowing my mind with what they are able to do.”
Mr Knight congratulated Mrs Ryan, who was the main organiser of the production, and he thanked the community for supporting the event which occurs every two years.
“This also comes down to the teachers who worked so hard and Mrs Ryan, in particular, has done a magnificent job and it is obvious how hard she has worked to get it going.
“Our community is really supportive, we have a nice community feel around Cobram Primary School and that's partly because people are really invested with what we are doing.
“To see so many people come out and enjoy it and the spirit in the room was truly representative of Cobram Primary School.”
