The Green Machine have been rocked by contract speculation over the past few rounds, culminating in fresh rumours forward Corey Horsburgh is set to sign with the Perth Bears next season.
The 28-year-old, whose contract doesn't expire until the end of 2027, has been dropped for their clash against Cronulla on Saturday, igniting rumours of an early exit.
It comes after coach Ricky Stuart said the Queenslander's game-defining decision to slap Newcastle centre Dane Gagai was a "f***ing brain explosion" last Sunday.
Along with Horsburgh's contract drama, the Wests Tigers announced hooker Jayden Brailey would join the joint venture next season on Wednesday.
"It's a massive (loss). Both those lads have a lot of experience and are in very important positions on the field as well," Weekes said on Thursday.
"Brails (Brailey), obviously he's definitely leaving.
"I love playing with Red (Horsburgh). I know the boys here love Red, and whatever he decides to do, whatever happens will happen."
Canberra are also desperate to keep barnstorming second-rower Hudson Young amid speculation he could sign with the PNG Chiefs, while outside back Sebastian Kris has been linked to a move with the Warriors.
Forward Morgan Smithies is going to Perth next year, and veteran prop Josh Papali'i only has three games remaining as a Raider after the club's finals hopes virtually ended in their 30-24 loss to the Knights.
But despite the contract speculation and missing out on finals the year after winning the minor premiership, Weekes insists the locker room energy hasn't shifted.
"Those things are really mostly done behind the scenes and you only really see them done when they're on social media or whatnot," the fullback said.
When asked if the club has a bright future despite all the players leaving, Weekes said yes.
"That's why I think there's a few of us sticking around. We obviously see what we're building here and what the club's built on," he added.
"The boys are not going to hang around for no reason."
One of the biggest holes in Canberra's depth chart for next season is their forward pack, although their concerns were partially alleviated with Ata Mariota re-signing until the end of the 2028 season.
Stuart has said he sees the 24-year-old as an integral part of the Raiders' future, and the forward believes he can be.
"There's some big shoes to fill, but as long as I play my game, do my thing, it'll all come together," Mariota said.
"I'm going to be here for a few years. I love this club. This club's giving me a life, and I'm just due in depth for them."
