Kyla West, 27, of Shepparton, pleaded guilty in the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to trafficking methamphetamines, cannabis and 1,4-butanediol, theft of a vehicle and dealing with property suspected to be the proceeds of crime.
Prosecutor Senior Constable Chris Cole said police found a total of 302.9g of methamphetamines, 1155ml of 1,4-butanediol and 14.5g of cannabis when they arrested West at a Kialla caravan park on April 22.
They also found a car that had been stolen from Arcadia, with false NSW plates, as well as two sets of car keys.
Among the drugs found was a 0.5g bag of methamphetamines that dropped out of West’s underwear when she was arrested.
Police uncovered a number of messages on West’s phone, which contained discussions with multiple people about buying “gear” in March and April this year.
Leading Sen Constable Cole told the court West had a history of drug trafficking.
West’s solicitor, Luke Slater, said things “fell apart” for his client — who appeared in court via video link while in prison for another matter — when she was in residential rehabilitation.
He asked magistrate Simon Zebrowski to not “crush her too hard”, as she was already serving a significant sentence for another matter.
Mr Zebrowski told West she was “getting to the end of your time being a youthful offender”, and this was serious offending over a significant period of time.
West was sentenced to six months’ prison, with three months to be served concurrently with her existing sentence.
