The crane will be used to complete the scaffold structure around the tower and will remain on-site to assist with the removal process of the tower.
Powercor has removed a section of powerline nearest to the water tower on Pakenham St, so the crane can be used safely.

Information about the staged approach to remove the tower is available on the Coliban Water website.
According to the timeline, once the scaffolding is complete, the tower will be cut into large sections and the crane will be used to remove the tower section by section.
Nearby residents and business owners will notice machinery noise.
Works will take place weekdays between 7am and 6pm, with some work on Saturdays between 7am and 3pm.

The project is expected to be completed by November, when the tower will be gone, the site cleared and streets reopened.
Businesses located on Pakenham St, closest to the water tower – Echuca Backpackers, Laundry Mates, Fuzion Cafe, Echuca Games Store, Under the Gable and Just for Men Hairdressing – are open for business.
Colioban Water staff will hold a community drop-in session where you can learn more about the removal project.
It’s a chance to meet the team, learn more and ask questions about the project.
The drop-in session will be held at Fuzion Cafe, 258 Pakenham St (opposite the tower) on Thursday, July 23, between 10am and noon.
