Tiny towns across Victoria, with populations of up to 5000 residents, can apply for grants ranging from $5000 to $50,000.
Community groups, organisations, and local councils are invited to take advantage of the opportunity.
This initiative empowers these communities to undertake projects that enhance, invigorate, and showcase their local areas.
Projects could include public art installations, distinctive bike racks, themed street furniture, playground equipment, street beautification through plantings, vibrant murals, sports amenities like basketball hoops and pickleball court lines and the development of scenic trails.
The funding is earmarked for local initiatives and organisations that aim to create improved public spaces.
These projects will offer essential facilities for families while nurturing community spirit.
Moreover, they are expected to boost local tourism, support regional employment, and stimulate local businesses.
Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes is calling upon the numerous community groups and organisations in tiny towns across the region to start brainstorming ideas that will breathe new life into their neighbourhoods.
“Our community members residing in tiny towns know precisely what they need, and this fund is a fantastic opportunity to bring those ideas to life,” she said.
“We are eagerly anticipating the remarkable project ideas that will emerge across our region.
“We want our small towns to shine and our community spirit to thrive.”
Applications for the Tiny Town Fund will open shortly.
