Celebrating 46 years in the travel industry in February, ask Helloworld Travel Cobram owner/manager Rosa Luff her feelings about her chosen profession, and she will respond in one word: Passion.

‘‘It’s all I have done since leaving school,’’ she said.
‘‘For me, the most enjoyable part is hearing the customer say that ‘this is exactly the trip I wanted’.’’
Mrs Luff, who runs the business as a partnership with her husband Greg Luff, told the Cobram Courier: ‘‘The satisfaction we get is clients saying ‘thank-you for all your advice, as a result we had a great time’.
‘‘We appreciate getting feedback from our clients as it lets us know that we are hitting the mark and not only meeting their expectations but exceeding them.’’
The most difficult part of the job?
‘‘All the hours of work that goes into making sure we go down the right track and match their budget — which is a big thing, we all have different budgets — and no matter how large or small it is, it’s just got to be right. The hardest part of the role is to ensure that we design the correct itinerary and the right fit.
‘‘You have to be very mindful of the client, from a family to newlyweds; we are all different with different ideas and different desires. Being able to read your customer is very important.’’
Helloworld Travel Cobram is delighted to be hosting its third Helloworld Travel Cobram Cruise and Travel Expo to be held at the Cobram Civic Centre in Punt Rd on Sunday, the third of March.
‘‘We will have 21 major travel companies in attendance,’’ Mrs Luff said.
People who register upon arrival at the expo will be in the running for some fantastic prizes.
‘‘On the day at 2pm sharp we will be drawing our major prizes — a $2000 Backroads Touring travel voucher and a QANTAS Holidays $500 travel voucher. We also have two $50 cash passports and two very practical Helloworld Travel cabin bags which will be drawn throughout the day.’’
Those who register are also in with the chance to win a Helloworld Travel voucher worth $300.
Attendees who book a holiday within seven days will then go into the draw for a $300 prepaid HSBC visa card.
Visitors to the event are being asked to donate a gold coin on their arrival to help Cobram Community Cinema funds drive.
A barbecue sausage sizzle offering tasty refreshments will be hosted by the cinema committee.
Expecting between 350 and 450 visitors to the event, Mrs Luff believes it is a fantastic opportunity for regional travellers to get great advice without the need to travel to a capital city.
‘‘It will be fantastic and everybody is welcome to come on the day. I am really excited to present it for the third time,’’ she said.
Helloworld Travel Cobram senior consultant Sue Hoban is encouraging everyone interested in travelling to come along to the Helloworld Travel Cobram Expo.
‘‘We have something for everyone,’’ she said.
‘‘A wide range of specialists will be on hand providing a wealth of knowledge; they can help with answering any questions and have valuable advice on destinations, sights and activities not to be missed.
‘‘Rosa has arranged some great giveaways and some major prizes will be drawn on the day.
‘‘Attending a travel expo has many advantages; experienced travel professionals to chat to and a vast range of holiday locations to tempt our avid travellers.
‘‘We will also have some great specials available on the day.’’
The team members at Helloworld Travel Cobram pride themselves on their customer service and wealth of travel experience and knowledge, with Ms Hoban and Mrs Luff both having travelled extensively.
