Tee off for a cause this Anzac Day

Aside from early morning dawn services and regular Anzac Day ceremonies, the Girgarre RSL rallies the community for a day that puts the “fun” in fundraising.

On April 25, the annual Girgarre Golf and Bowls day will be held to raise funds for the community during times of need.

It’s a fun way to spend the afternoon with friends on the public holiday, while also raising much needed funding for the community, with proceeds heading to the Girgarre RSL.

Here are the times golfers and bowlers need to know before heading out on Anzac Day:

Golfers should assemble at the Valley View Golf Club at 11.30am for a shot gun start at noon.

Entry fees are $30 per pair for both club members and women participating in the 4 Ball Best Ball Stableford competition.

There will also be a Calloway event, which is $15 entry.

Afternoon tea will be provided for attendees, and hot dogs will be available before the first ball drops.

Bowlers need to gather at the Girgarre Bowls Club at 12.30pm for a 1pm start.

It will be an Open Triples event, two bowls each player, with an entry fee of $45 per team.
