Tatura Men’s Shed wraps up the year

Vince Vincitorio officially opens the Tatura Men’s Shed Christmas lunch, kicking off an afternoon of festive cheer.

If you ask Tatura Men’s Shed president Allan Johnston to describe the people of the men’s shed, his answer is simple: “a bunch of misfits”.

But of course, he is 100 per cent joking and that was clear on Tuesday, December 2, when he spoke at the group’s annual Christmas lunch.

With 97 people in attendance, their biggest luncheon to date across the group’s 14-year journey, his words were heartfelt as he wished them all a happy and safe festive season while looking out for themselves and each other.

“It’s a good way to end the year and remain a part of the community,” Allan said.

“I hope everyone really enjoyed themselves today and stays safe and well over the holidays.”

Roast turkey, ham, bread rolls and hot roasted vegetables were served for lunch, followed by Christmas pudding with ice-cream and custard for dessert.

Wives and friends of the members were also welcome. People sat, chatted and enjoyed a Men’s Shed wine or two, the perfect way to wrap up another year together.
