In addition to Will Dudley and Tom McCallum who were joint winners of the Deniliquin Business Chamber’s Outstanding Construction Apprentice Award and Will McKern Scholarship, fourth year apprentice Murray Clancy has become an important part of the team.
Starting with J & D Tyndall Electrical Contractors earlier this year, his colleagues and clients say Murray already shows an aptitude for the industry that exceeds his experience so far.
“His skill set would suggest the calibre of being in the trade for at least 10 years,” workmate Jack Tyndall said.
“Murray is talented and very thorough at everything he applies himself to and is a natural problem solver.
“Going above and beyond, Murray is always happy to do out of hour call-outs and overtime if it's needed.
“No job request is too big or ever seems to be an issue.
“We are fortunate to have Murray as a part of the team and leading the way for the business into the future.”
Among his recent projects, Murray has been involved in the Peppin Heritage Centre upgrade.
He is also leading a team of workers at two large industrial dairy sheds.
At the completion of his apprenticeship, the business will support Murray through the next steps of his skills building journey.
It is planned he’ll undertake a smart metering course, so he can oversee that part of the business.
