Support blooms for cancer research

The foyer of Echuca Regional Health was a sea of yellow on August 20 to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research.

Held annually, Daffodil Day is a chance for community members to help raise funds for the Cancer Council of Victoria.

According to the Cancer Council, when the day started in 1986, the five-year cancer survival rate was about 46 per cent.

Today, thanks to the support of the community raising funds for cancer research, survival is now 72 per cent.

Hospital volunteers manned a stall, selling fresh daffodils as well as other items including knitted daffodil pins, hair ties and clips and scrunchies.
