The town is buzzing and the weather is shaping up beautifully for one of the biggest weekends on the Jerilderie calendar, the Jerilderie Races this Saturday.
For those keen to leave the car at home, a courtesy bus will be running to and from the racecourse, with multiple pick-up points around town.
Keep an eye on the Jerilderie Race Club Facebook page for pick-up locations and times.
The celebrations actually kick off on Race Day Eve, with the Race Club’s popular 100 Club draw getting underway from 7pm at the Sports Club.
You don’t need to be there to win, with some great prizes up for grabs. Tickets can be purchased on the night, from Race Club committee members or at the Vet Clinic.
And ladies, there’s an extra reason to frock up this year!
Fashions on the Field has welcomed a new category – Local Lady of the Day.
There are no excuses now ladies … pull out your best race-day look, gather the crew and bring your A-game.
Of course, the fun doesn’t finish when the last horse crosses the line.
There will be plenty happening in town well into the evening.
It’s shaping up to be a fantastic weekend for Jerilderie.

It is the last week to have your say on Jerilderie's proposed water park.
Jerilderie Apex Club is seeking community feedback on the preferred location for a water park, which would be fully funded by the club.
Proposed locations include Brew Park, Elliot Park or somewhere in the vicinity of the town swimming pool.
The water park would provide a fun recreational space for local children and families while also creating another attraction for visitors to Jerilderie.

Knockin Boots line dancing is returning to the Jerilderie Sports Stadium this Friday, September 25 at 6pm.
Those who attended the last pop up line dancing session have all commented on the wonderful time they had.
It is open to all ages, and you can save time on paperwork pre-registering by scanning the QR on the posters on the town noticeboards or just turn up on the day.

St Joseph’s Primary School will bring plenty of entertainment to the Civic Hall on Thursday with its annual Extravaganza. Matinee is 11.30am followed by a final performance at 6pm.

Local children will have the opportunity to attend the Riverina Youth Connect Coleambally Holiday Program these school holidays, with bus transport available from Jerilderie on September 28, 29 and 30.
The bus will depart from outside the chemist at 8am each morning, returning to Jerilderie about 5pm.
Families wishing to secure a seat on the bus are asked to contact Jacqui Robertson on 0491 183 557.
Registration forms for the Riverina Youth Connect Holiday Program are available through the Murrumbidgee Council What’s On website, as well as in local school newsletters.

Jerilderie Tidy Towns 2026 Garden Competition is now open for community voting.
Categories include the most colourful garden, best reborn and renewed garden and best business spring display.
Voting remains open until October 19 with winners announced at the Jerilderie Flower Show on October 23.
To cast your vote, please use the online link on their Facebook page or collect a paper voting form from the Jerilderie Library.
