Special milestone celebrated with smiles all round

For Cobram District Specialist School’s Foundation students, their first 100 days of school were marked by smiles, special memories and the support of their senior buddies.

The school had a busy day of celebrations on Thursday, August 13, with families, students and staff coming together to recognise the important milestone.

At the beginning of the year, each Foundation student was paired with a senior student, known as their ‘buddy’, to help them settle into school.

As part of the celebrations, the senior buddies prepared a special presentation showcasing their time together, including photos and a gift for each Foundation student. Families were also invited to attend and share in the celebration.

Buddy Rose said she enjoyed hosting the assembly and helping to keep everyone organised.

Imogen was “so happy” to see the Foundation students having fun, while Jayden enjoyed helping with the presentations and delivering the PowerPoint.

“It was fun to see everyone like the photos,” he said.

Ayjah said she was very happy to see her buddy and have a special photo taken together.

Craig and Dekota both said they loved seeing the Foundation students happy and enjoying themselves, while Anthony said he particularly enjoyed seeing how much the students had grown throughout the year.

Foundation teacher Sheffie said the first 100 days of school were a special milestone for every child.

“We are incredibly proud of the growth, confidence, friendships and achievements our students have made so far,” she said.
