The shed fire occurred at the intersection of Highlands and Delatite Rds, and was successfully extinguished by about 2pm on Friday, January 2.
Alongside the Seymour Fire Brigade was a long list of volunteer firefighters at the scene, including those from brigades in Hilldene, Whiteheads Creek/Tarcombe, Avenel, Wandong, Tallarook, Broadford, Nagambie, Kilmore, Clonbinane and Wallan.
The efforts were also supported by Fire Rescue Victoria, which, in a social media statement about the incident, said, “Victorians can always count on strong inter-agency co-operation to deliver the best possible emergency response.”
The cause of the fire and extent of the damage are currently unknown and are being investigated by fire investigators and Victoria Police.
The public is requested to avoid the area, which remains an active crime scene, and while fire crews are no longer in attendance, Victoria Police officers remain at the site.
