With a potentially dangerous summer ahead, Cobram Fire Brigade is hosting an open day on Saturday, December 2, allowing residents to learn about the vital work it does.
From 10am to 2pm, the community open day will feature demonstrations, truck displays and kids activities including face painting and a jumping castle.
With a precarious summer ahead, there will also be information sessions on how to prepare your property should the worst happen.
Attendees will also be able to enjoy a delicious barbecue.
CFA Cobram brigade captain Matt Dehne hopes the open day will not only help people prepare for summer and have a fun and informative time, but also spark an interest in any potential recruits.
“We are hoping people get to see that volunteering with the Cobram Fire Brigade is a worthwhile thing,” he said.
“Every day is different. It’s not always about jumping on the truck to go to a fire. Lots of things need to happen behind the scenes to run the brigade.”
