Year 12 students from Rochester Secondary College took part in end-of-year celebrations after a tough year.

The class of 2023 enjoyed its final week of school as the students dressed in silly costumes, tormented fellow students and took photos that would last a lifetime.

“After the many tears and hugs that were exchanged, it would be an understatement to say that the emotion is still bittersweet as we celebrate our final year of school,” Denvah and Alex wrote.

“To take out the seriousness of an already stressful and difficult year, our Year 12 group has found the occasion of having themed ”dress-up“ celebrations throughout the year.

Abba-fabba: Ava and Charlotte were hard to miss.

“To top it off for our official ‘Celebration Day’, with the help of our teachers, we put together a performance that we hope none of our junior year levels will forget.

“We put our souls into dancing together and tormenting our younger year levels with silly string, to dressing up as everything from movie dopplegängers to Bananas in Pyjamas.

“While the year did not go quite as planned, we were able to overcome the challenges and enjoy a successful year. The last week of activities has been a great way to say farewell and leave our not-so-easy-to-clean glitter mark on the school.”
