Elmore golf

The final day for season 2022 was played in excellent conditions winning team was Mac Whittle, Jake Price , Ben Duncan, and Lachlan Brook, 66-8.75-57.25, Runners up was Mitch Whittle, Luke Price, Nick Gibbs and Tyler Oliver. 67-5.75-61.25. Men’s NTP on 10 and 14 won by Harry Whittle, Ladies on 10 was Tanya Niven and on 14 Corrie Holmberg.

Yearly trophies were presented following a delious meal. A-grade Champion Harry Whittle stroke score of 243, B. Grade Champion Harry Grogan Stroke score of 267, Best Net over Championships Harry Grogan 214 net. 2 Best Stableford rounds Nick Gibbs on 72 points, Rochester Tyres Sam McLeod on 41 points. Ladies final day was played in wet conditions yet again, winner was the very consistent Lorna Wilson. Ladies finished the day with a lovely lunch and lots of laughter.

Yearly trophy winners were Captains Trophy Kristiana Susanto, Best Gross Score Kristiana Susanto (93), Best 3 rounds of putting Denise Pappin, Best three Stableford rounds Lorna Wilson, Eclectic Kristiana Susanto, Most Birdies Tanya Niven, Most Gobblers Kristiana Susanto.

Chicken Run winner was Trevor Carboon, runner-up was brother Tom Carboon, Longest Putt on 9 was Jack Kennedy, NTP in 2 on 14 Stuart Ayson.

President Stuart Niven thanked all our wonderful sponsors for their support this year. Many thanks to our members in Bruce Rasmussen, Alan Campbell, Max Williams and Greg Holmberg for all their work in the preparation of the course for the season an excellent job well done.

Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 12, at 7.30pm we look forward to seeing many members attending this evening.

Rochester golf

Last Wednesday’s event was a 3-person ambrose played over the back 9. The winning team of Graham Jensen, Kevin McCormick and Peter Anderson scored 37-6-31 from the team of Laurie Radley, Spencer Broom and Richard Feuk with net 31.1/3, Lee Hicks (12) and Kevin McCormick (16) were the nearest the pin winners.

Last Friday 68 played in our annual MND Charity day. The winning team was lead by Bowden Stone, with Finn Palmer, Jono and Jacob Dingwall parring the white course, 71 -14.75 (56.25). Runners up were the local husband and wife teams of Wayne and Louise Williams and Lee and Cheryl Hicks, 66 net (57-3/4), other good scores were recorded by Sam Frawley, Ben Newth, Darcy Taylor and Grant Fuller net (59 3/4) and Jake Wrights cricket mates also on (59 3/4)

Brendan Calder was closest to the wriggly line on 1, visitor Julie Anderson first shot of the day won nearest on 10, while husband Derek Anderson (3), 5th ladies went to Louise Williams, Bamawm's Mel Warren (8), Steve Bubb (12), unique award for closest to Bill Curtis tree on the 13th went to visitor Sam O'Brien and Peter Anderson. (16). Many thanks go to our major sponsors on the day, Rochester Native Nursery and Justin Cleary from the local Ampol station, our other generous supporters and to Garry and Judy for their help in the clubhouse all day.

Owing to the AFL Grand Final a Stableford event was played on Sunday, playing off the blue markers, Captain Des Gallagher had his best score for some weeks winning with 38 points, runner-up was Lee Hicks on a countback from Col Johnson (36), Bruce Bryant was nearest the line on the 10th.

The Ladies’ postponed 4 ball tournament is now on this Friday, September 30, hit off is from 10am, enquires to Jenny Major and Karen Taylor.

Next Sunday, October 2, a Men’s and Ladies Stableford event with hit off from (10.30am-11am) will be followed by the club’s Presentation Awards, members please bring a plate. Members and partners most welcome.

The clubs AGM will be held on Monday, October 24, at 7pm. A number of positions will become vacant, so members please consider nominating for one of these positions, your support is always appreciated.

Lockington golf

The women played for the Lorna Henderson Canadian Trophy on Friday, in a shortened round format. The three pairs were remarkably evenly matched, with victory to Marg Eade and Jenny Holt (80-24-56) by 2 ½ shots from Sherryl Jones & Phyll Macfarlane (58.5).

The scratch scores were even closer, with just 2 shots separating the 3 teams. The best score was returned by Sue Harris and Pauline Humbert (79). Nearest the pin: Sue Harris.

The men played an ambrose event on Saturday, with the best score returned by Stuart Newton, Tom Scurrah and Steve Holt, who combined very well to finish with 68-8.67-59.33.

Runners-up were the executive team of Trav Mancer, Mark Lyons and Grant Humbert (67-6.5-60.5). Des Pentreath, Brendan Pentreath, Jeff Carnie and Don Muhleisen were next best with a very creditable 76-14-62.

Nearest the pins: 3rd – Ash Portwine (new sticks working well?); 2nd shot 9th – Kevin Humbert (A), Trav Mancer (B), Mark Lyons (C).

Spike’s Longest Drive on the 15th, sponsored by Hot ‘n’ Cold Plumbing – Grant Humbert (A), Trav Mancer (B), Tom Scurrah (C). Neither the Echuca CIH eagles nest on the 3rd, nor Captain Bricka’s yardstick on the 7th was won.

The Joy Bickford Rose Bowl has been cancelled due to the persistent rain and the effect on the course conditions.

Club events will continue however, weather permitting. Saturday, October 1: Stableford, Money Day. Sunday, October 2: Closing Day 4 person ambrose. Saturday, October 8: Presentation night, bring and share casserole tea, 7pm-7.30pm, all welcome.

Bamawm golf

It was a beautiful day for a hit of golf on Sunday with players competing in a stroke round.

Winner of the day was Will Broucek with a great score of 113-47-66 from runner up Jeff Carnie 93-19-74.

NTP 2nd shot 4/13- Nev Vicary. Next Sunday will be a stableford round.

Friday night chicken run will kick off this Friday, September 30, hit off from 4.30pm.
