The open day will be held from 10am to 2pm at the station in Wise Court.
The event organisers would love the help of our community in spreading the word and sharing the open day information with your family and friends.
If you come along you can enjoy a barbecue, meet the RFS volunteers, check out the fire trucks and enjoy a great family day with the community. Kids can enjoy colouring in activities, a jumping castle and even have a go at the fire hose.
The open day will also include some vital fire safety information in preparation for summer and bushfire season.

Berrigan Shire libraries have announced their school holiday program for the upcoming school break, and they have come up with some great activities.
Come along to Tocumwal Library on Thursday, October 1 and Thursday, October 8 from 10.30am to create some mythical paper fidgets and treasure boxes. There is a small fee of $1 for the fidgets and $4 for two treasure boxes.
Children under eight years old need to be supervised by an adult and bookings for these activities are essential by contacting the library on (03) 5874 2633 or by email to toclib@berriganshire.nsw.gov.au.

Congratulations to the raffle winners from the recent street stall held by the Tocumwal Lions Community Hostel. First prize went to Gayle Kelly and second prize went to Joan Ing.
Organisers thanked everyone who purchased from the street stall.
Save the date for the annual spring fête which will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 11am.
This event is one of the highlights of the community calendar and is always a wonderful day of fun and traditional fête festivities.
There will be homemade cakes, slices and savoury foods, plants, produce and face painting. A raffle will be held along with residents’ crafts for sale and the famous spinning wheel.

The Tocumwal Rotary Club has been appealing to the community for assistance and is seeking families from our area to host a high school exchange student for three months from January 2027.
Hosting an exchange student is a rewarding opportunity to share your home and culture with a young person from another part of the world. It is a way to help them experience life in Australia while your own family gains insight into another culture.
Many host families report the experience builds lifelong friendships and opens the door for future travel.
Host families are asked to provide a safe and supportive home environment and offer the student their own private bedroom and access to a bathroom with a lock. They also provide three meals a day and include the student in day to day family life.
Transport to and from school and Rotary events is required, along with general emotional support and encouragement to help the student thrive.
The two exchange students from Japan and Belgium are already in Tocumwal and living with local families, and Rotary is seeking homes for them to be welcomed to for three months at the beginning of 2027.
This is part of a rotating arrangement where the students are living with different families over the course of a year.
Single people, families with children or older individuals or couples are all able to host an exchange student. There is no ‘perfect’ family, just a willingness to care and include the student in everyday life.
Tocumwal Rotary is providing ongoing assistance, management of schooling and the student support of the exchange student. These students are attending Cobram Secondary College and receive $150 a month in spending money.
If you have ever considered opening your home to a student from abroad, now is the perfect time. You may even have a 15 to 17-year-old child yourself wanting to partake in an exchange in 2027 and this is a fantastic opportunity to experience the program first hand.
