The Punt Hotel’s Pig Day Out has been hailed a huge success, with more than 2000 people through the gates for a fun-filled day that brought visitors from across the country to Darlington Point.

One of the most exciting results was that 80 per cent of attendees had never been to Pig Day Out before, showing just how far the event reached this year.
Visitor data showed 33 per cent travelled from Griffith, 11 per cent were from Darlington Point, with the remaining visitors coming from towns and communities across Australia.
The influx provided a welcome boost for the community, with visitors staying locally along the river, at the caravan park, motel and club, as well as supporting local businesses during their stay.
There was no shortage of entertainment throughout the day.
The competitions attracted 26 homemade salami entries and 22 homemade limoncello entries, while six brave entrants showed off their pig tattoos and three competitors put their mullets on display.
The show and shine featured six cars and six bikes, while 24 competitors took on the bacon eating competition.
A colourful collection of characters and costumes added even more atmosphere to the day.
Jamie Agius travelled from Goulburn to entertain late into the night.
The success has already secured the future of the event, with the pig races booked to return in 2027.
The Punt Hotel would like to thank Murrumbidgee Council for its support and assistance in helping make the event possible and ensuring it could be delivered successfully for the community.
The Pig Race Auction, run by Riverina Outback Rally, raised money for Country Hope.
