The rebrand officially launched on August 5 where a new logo and uniforms were unveiled to residents during a morning tea.
Cobram Regional Care chief executive Tracey Gemmill said the rebrand reflected current values and ensured the organisation's longevity.
“Ottrey Lodge represented a small, stand-alone community facility,” Ms Gemmill said.
“This is a wider organisation providing a greater range of services — we've got a retirement village with 42 independent living units, Ottrey Lodge which is soon to be a 100-bed facility as well as home care — so we want to represent what we are now.”
Cobram Regional Care has secured an additional 21 beds, with at least eight specifically reserved for people with Italian origin in an attempt to combat social isolation.
Cobram Regional Care is also branching into home care, which includes nursing services, cleaning, personal care and maintenance services across the Moira and Berrigan shires.
Ms Gemmill said in response to the Federal Government Royal Commission into Aged Care Safety and Quality increasing choice for consumers was a priority.
“People in Cobram have been fairly limited for a long time and we want people to know there is more choice for consumers in where and how they receive their care and services,” she said.
“We view the expansion into home care services as a natural progression of the business.”
From October, consumers can nominate Cobram Regional Care to be their provider of choice.
Ms Gemmill said it would significantly reduce wait times for home care.
Cobram Regional Care will soon offer a Certificate III in Individual Support, facilitated by Partners in Training Australia.
Six traineeships would be offered to students who would work in residential services and home care.
Increasing staff was a priority for Cobram Regional Care, with management looking at hiring new trainees annually.
Cobram Regional Care is a community-owned, not-for-profit organisation, operated by a voluntary committee of management.
The facility officially opened 32 refurbished bedrooms in March and has started the process of refurbishing all older bedrooms with the assistance of funds from Cobram Rotary Club and the Victorian Department of Health.
