Barooga Bowls Club
Congratulations to Cheryl Townsing and Kerry Ralph who won the Murray Bowls’ women's champion of champion pairs.
They played Chris Dunn and Marg McDonald from Cobram. There are no scores up on Bowlslink but it is believed they were about 17 up and did not need to play last couple of ends, so well done.
A working bee has been organised for Wednesday, April 14, at 9 am to attend to some edging on the greens. If you can assist, it would be appreciated.
The last men's trade day of the season was played on Thursday at Numurkah Golf where the Numurkah Golf team of Geoff Sutcliffe, Jack Dell and David Dawes were the winners.
Runners-up were Peter Velardo, Gary Presnall and Andy LeVerie. Best first game winners were Gerald Rothe, Ray Nye and Greg Thorne, best second game winners were Tony Smith, Bill and Trevor Cobbledick. Best third game winners were Vic Kendall, Richard Palzach and Peter Buller and best last game went to Allen Clarke, Noel Newham and Russell Morris.
The jackpot of $950 did not go off, so next season it will start off with a very healthy balance for some lucky bowlers to win.
Keith's Friday had 20 bowlers attend to try to win their jackpot but it did not go off and will now be worth $114.30 this week.
Winners of the day were the combination of Ruth Burnett and Bill Hoog with +14. Runners-up were Bob Thatcher and Ken Newton with 6. Best first game winners were Karen and John Bruce with 4. Best second game winners was decided on ends as two teams finished equal. Fred Pinnuck and Peter Buller as well as Geoff Brentnall and John Sullivan had 5, however as Pinnuck and Buller had five ends and Brentnell and Sullivan had seven, they were the winners.
Don't forget, if you want a game of bowls on a Monday night that it is still being run but in a different format, so get your name in before 6.30 pm and enjoy a social game.
Don't forget the annual meeting and presentation day is on April 24. Put your names on notice board or contact Val Linquist.
