Nominations for the Moira Achiever Awards are now open, giving you the chance to recognise an individual, community group, event or project for their remarkable achievements and dedication.
Returning for a fourth year in 2026, the awards recognise the stars of Moira Shire who help drive positive change in our community.
Nominations are open to everyone living in Moira Shire, with the awards to be presented at a gala evening on April 23.
Moira Shire Council chair administrator Graeme Emonson said he hoped to see a large number of nominations for the 2026 awards.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate excellence in the community and to highlight the people in our region who go above and beyond,” Dr Emonson said.
“We want to acknowledge the success of our community achievers of all ages — as individuals, as organisations and as part of events and projects over the past 12 months.
“I encourage everyone to look around their communities to find those tireless workers who make Moira a better place to live and think about the event, project or organisation that made a significant contribution to your community.
“Let’s recognise all these efforts with award nominations.”
The five categories are:
Star Achiever of the Year
Young Star Achiever of the Year (up to 16 years of age)
Shining Star Achiever of the Year (16 to 24 years of age)
Community Star Achiever of the Year (event or organisation)
ACE Star Achiever of the Year (arts/culture/environment project)
Nominations close on Saturday, February 28.
