The dance club visited the Cobram school to teach Year 3 and 4 students a series of classic rock ‘n’ roll moves, giving them the chance to dance with partners and experience a different style of music and movement.
Acting principal Stephanie Arundel said students embraced the opportunity with enthusiasm.
“Students were treated to a fantastic demonstration before joining in a hands-on workshop where they learned new dance moves, practised dancing with a partner and experienced a different style of music and movement,” she said.
“There were plenty of smiles, laughter and energy as students stepped outside their comfort zones and gave something new a go.”

Ms Arundel said the workshop also helped students build confidence, coordination and teamwork skills.
“A huge thank you to the Cobram River Rockers for sharing their passion, enthusiasm and talent with our students for such a memorable learning experience,” she said.
Club president Derek Wagner said the kids were “amazing”.
“We were blown away on how quickly they picked up on the moves,” he said.
“We did a little demo for them to see if they knew what rock ‘n’ roll dancing actually was, and then we paired them up and taught them four rock ‘n’ roll moves.”
Mr Wagner said teaching the students had been a rewarding experience.
“It was absolutely awesome, and to see the smiles on the kids' faces just made it worthwhile,” he said.
All the students were eager to learn and enjoyed the dance class.
