The Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing is urging impacted residents in Cobram, Katamatite, Katunga and Muckatah to access the program to find out what support is available.
Department secretary of emergency management Argiri Alisandratos said the program would help people navigate all the support available.
“We know people are still recovering from the recent bushfires – this process takes time, and I’m encouraging everyone impacted to access the Emergency Recovery Support Program,” she said.
“For those who have faced bushfires before, this might be a particularly challenging time that is stirring up memories and feelings of sadness, fear and grief, which is why we’re offering these important supports.”
Emergency recovery support can help with things such as finding local services, insurance and legal questions, money problems, health and well being and registering for government services.
Emergency recovery support officers can provide practical support in completing applications and helping to reduce the administration burden on those who may be feeling overwhelmed.
Anyone impacted by the recent fires can contact the Emergency Recovery Hotline on 1800 560 760.
